When the music dimmed and found its way back!
There was a time when the music dimmed. Not suddenly, not dramatically, just quietly. The violin, once my heart and soul, slowly fell silent.
As a teenager, playing the violin was everything to me. It was where I could breathe, feel, disappear and come home all at once. Music wasn’t something I did, it was something I was.
And then life happened. Choices, responsibilities, circumstances, stories that pulled me away from that part of myself. For almost twenty years, the violin stayed in its case. And with it, a piece of my fire.
Two years ago, something shifted. Not from ambition or longing to “perform again”, but from a quiet inner nudge. I picked up the violin gently.Joined an orchestra. No pressure. No expectations. Just showing up and listening.
What surprised me most wasn’t how it sounded. It was how it felt.
As if something that had always lived inside mewas finally allowed to breathe again.

Last night, I played solo.
Standing there, I wasn’t proving anything. I wasn’t trying to reclaim the past. I was simply present with what wanted to move through me now.
And I realised something important.
That fire never disappeared. It dimmed, yes. But it waited patiently.
This experience mirrors so much of the work I do now. We often think we’ve lost parts of ourselves, our passion, our creativity, our aliveness. But more often than not, they are not gone. They are resting. Waiting for safety, space and permission.
This season, especially, feels like an invitation.
To ask yourself, without force or judgement:
What once felt like your heart and soul? What made you feel deeply alive? And what would it look like to gently let that fire burn again?
You don’t have to go back. You don’t have to be who you were. You only have to listen to what wants to live through you now. Rediscovering the violin reminded me that passion doesn’t disappear, it waits.
When you reconnect with what once felt like your heart and soul, you reconnect with your energy, creativity and inner fire.
At The Energy Alchemist, I work with people who feel that quiet call inside. Those who sense there is more aliveness, more alignment and more truth waiting to be lived.
If you are ready to reconnect with your inner fire, creativity and embodied energy, you are warmly invited to explore my work, reflections and offerings here on the website, or connect with me on Instagram for ongoing inspiration.
Sometimes, all it takes is listening again.
Merry Christmas, Haitske ✨
